The Unfinished Project

I know you are on pins and needles waiting for me to tell you about my big unfinished project! It's my ....drum roll...... Kitchen floors! We have known since we bought the house we were going to replace the floors. There was never any question, it was a matter of when!

I knew I wanted hardwood floors, should be easy. Not so much. They needed to match the existing wood floor in the entry, dining room and hall since they would be next to each other for about 4 feet.

Have you ever tried to match 13 year old floors? So after lots of "not quites", I finally found "close enough". The perfect long weekend was coming up (that would have been Labor Day '09), to install the floors. I assumed the store would have them in stock, so I waited until the middle of the week to place my order, only to find out it would take 10 days to get them in stock! Oh well, no floors for me.

So, here it is almost February and still no floors. But I have made a decision. I am not going with hardwood, I am going with......FAKE WOOD! I found a blog, Pink and Polka Dot, and she did her floors with peel and stick vinyl planks from Lowe's. They look fabulous! I ran to Lowe's and bought some planks, laid them out, and they match my existing floors to a tee!! The plan is to put them down over President's Day weekend. I'll post pics when we are finished.

I can't believe I made a DECISION!!! Hopefully I won't change my mind again.

Welcome to my blog!

Hi! You found me. Hopefully, you will like me enough to stick around. So, why am I doing this? Glad you asked. I sometimes have these projects that I'm working on. Things start of great, I'm motivated, I'm feeling it, I've got the Hubby on board, then we start. Things are going great, looking good, not too much arguing, not too many tears shed and all of a sudden, things come to a standstill. I get side tracked, I lose interest, I MUST MAKE A DECISION! Nothing halts a project for me than making the FINAL decision! This is what I am hoping to overcome. This drives my hubby NUTS. He makes a list, gathers all necesary supplies, sets aside time to do project and then, get this- He FINISHES it. Drives me crazy, How does he do that?

Tomorrow, or the next day, I will show you my most unfinished project, the one I think we are going to tackle soon!!
